![]() ![]() It’s super competitive and it can rly bring out the worst in people if they aren’t mature enough. The game isn’t really the problem on this one, it’s just the players. The gameplay isn’t super bloody, but some killers “Moris” can be pretty scary. If you’re around while they play every single time maybe it’ll be fine. If your kid gets frustrated by this kind of harassment, they might turn on messaging to give somebody a piece of their mind. Again, for adults it’s whatever, but for kids, I highly doubt they can handle it. As a killer, you’re alone and getting bullied by four people who usually know each other and are on the phone. Bullying in the game can consist of survivors shining flashlights in your face for no reason, clicking them at you if you miss a hit, “tea-Bagging,” which is simulating putting your balls in someone’s mouth, and overall taunting, especially when your kid is doing badly. it’s a fun game, but the fandom is the most toxic you’ll ever see. If they decide to turn on messages for any reason and you’re not around, they will get called slurs, told to k*ll themselves, mocked, etc. but for a kid, that’s gonna be really, really frustrating. However, kids are not mature enough to take that level of in game harassment. People try to make you mad in this game and that’s fine with me. But, even with messaging off, if you play as a killer, you will get bullied by four survivors. HOWEVER, I’m an adult and have played this game for years. ![]() Sure, the game isn’t that gory and you can turn off messages when it comes to playing online with people. I see some reviews on here saying this game is okay for ages 12 and up. It's a game that knows what it is and is good at delivering it - a spooky, intense, experience. There is a maximum of 60 seconds in the lobby while a match readies for basic communication.Īlso it's quite fun. It's a standardized format where 4 survivors work together to overcome 1 killer (all controlled by real people). If you aren't familiar with video games imagine a sport. If you're familiar with games imagine rounds of call of duty. One other thing parents and those interested in this game might want to know is that the game takes place in the format of "matches". I always recommend to tailor approaches to the child rather than the age. Children who are a bit more mature and don't upset easily could obviously play this game earlier. I rated the game as great for people above 16 years of age because this is the pretty standard age at which people can start to consume media like this. It's quite literally accessible by everyone. It's also available on Switch, Stadia, and mobile devices. It's not too bad but I'd rate it 3/5 rather than 2/5.Ĭommon Sense Media is also inaccurate about the platforms this game is available on. This means the game has layers of monetization. Some in game content is only accessible through purchasable in game currency. There are DLCs which is a fairly standard practice now with larger releases, but there are also many DLCs. My favourite character Claudette is a good person whose abilities ("empathy, self care, and botony knowledge) revolve around helping others.Ĭonsumerism - this is related too low. I would encourage people interested to read their stories included in the game. Some of the survivors are very positive role models. Under positive role models - These are indeed in the game. It's hypothetical possible that another player might send an abusive text. There is no foul language included in the game. ![]() Under foul language - This is rated too highly. The common sense expert review does contain some inaccuracies. No survivors at the time of this review can escape permanently but the company that has made the game has confirmed it is possible and has happened before, so people are certainly able to imagine their favorite survivors have escaped and are living happily if they'd like. None of the deaths that occur in the game are real - it's a simulation within the game as the entity derives its sustenance from the struggle of the survivors to escape their killers. There's cartoon violence, blood, and very limited gore themed decorations. A villain called "the entity" picks up survivors (the protagonists) and killers (mostly horror movie villains but some original characters) to engage against each other in its own realm. It's a great game for keeping you on your toes and giving your brain a little work out while you try to out smart and escape villains. I'm in my mid 20s and find this game to be a fun adrenaline rush from time to time. ![]()
